Furniture Delivery Information from Holmes Hill Furniture.
Due to rising costs our free delivery now covers the following Postcodes only.
Free Delivery for orders over £500 for the following areas. BN, RG, RH, GU, TN, ME, CR, DA, BR. For orders under £500 carriage charge will be £30.
Free Delivery for orders over £1000 for the following areas. CT, SO, RG, SL, TW, SW, SE, RM, CM, CO, PO, For orders under £500 carriage charge will be £40.
Delivery quotes are written on your invoice at time of purchase. Please note different suppliers have different delivery lead times and also we have a lot of stock so some items can be delivered in a week. Also display items can be taken away at time of purchase. If a supplier does overrun on a delivery we will tell you as soon as we are informed.
Delivery is to the room of choice provided there is sufficient access, and is undertaken with a minimum of two deliverymen. Their will be a charge if we have to take a piece of furniture apart because it does not fit through an entrance if this has not been agreed at time of purchase. If it is too large to fit we can leave it in another room to be moved by the customer.
Delivery staff are required by law to wear protective footwear at all times as they are not allowed to remove there footwear when unloading the vehicle. It is up to the customer to protect carpets etc from our driver’s shoes. Please note we are not insured past the front door for deliveries so while we deliver to the room of your choice we cannot tale responsibility for any damage our delivery driver’s cause. This has not happened yet as we use trained delivery staff not agency drivers. Customers sometimes expect us to get wardrobes up the smallest of stairs and while we will give it a try, if it scrapes the paintwork etc, we cannot accept liability.
Please tell us if we cannot get our van to your door or if you live in the top floor of a flat. If it takes longer to deliver it delays every following delivery for the whole day and is unfair to those customers. So if we need more time let us know.
Please inspect your furniture at time of delivery. We very rarely get a problem on a delivery but if you find a problem when we have left, please email us some pictures and we will sort it out as soon as possible. At Holmes Hill Furniture we only delivery in the South East so we can give customers the service they deserve. If we delivered further away then we would not be able to sort problems out in the quick time we do.
Almost all Holmes Hill Furniture supplied fully assembled. Any items that need assembling will be done at time of delivery and there will be no extra cost to the customer unless we have price matched to another store that just delivers the items unboxed to the front door. If we have matched their price we will have to match their delivery terms, as that is how other Internet customers rip off customers. We will also take all packaging away at no cost to the customer.
We will have to make a failed delivery charge if we turn up to deliver and the customer is not in. We also will not be liable if we do not deliver at a specific time. We cannot give timed deliveries but will be able to advise on the day if it is likely to be AM or PM.
Sometimes, but very rarely we deliver by pallet to get a delivery to a customer quickly. Please note this really is delivery to the door and the packaging is not taken away. If you have asked for this for the quick delivery then we will do this. It really is not the way we like to deliver but can be done at the customers request.
