We are please to announce our shop refurb is well ahead of schedule. We have installed a new first floor and the new glass showroom front goes in on monday. We must be one of the only companies around at the moment that is investing money for the future !!! Thanks to all our customers that have come in despite the work going on. We hope to add another four manufacturers ranges in the new larger showroom when the new floor opens in three weeks time. Photos will appear here shortly.

September 3rd, 2010We have just been informed this week that Auger the french furniture manufacturer has gone bust. We again like Pinetum have reduced the outstanding items in price from the shop floor. Suppliers seem to be like holiday companies at the moment, All going bust !!!!
Pinetum Closes down.
August 31st, 2010Word has reached us that Pinetum have ceased manufacturing. We are sad to see them go but click here for a value alternative. We have also reduced all our display items which can be found here. We have reduced the prices by 30% but they are on a first come first served basis and the stock is “sold as seen ex display”.

Some of you may remember me fron the Fast Show where i used to sell cars and give my thoughts to the camera. Hopefuly i can bring a lighter note to the business of selling the best Pine and Oak furniture in the South East.

You know buying a piece of furniture like a wardrobe is like making love to a beautiful woman. You go to the store, have a look at something you fancy, Pay over some money, ( In Holmes Hill Furnitures case, they have incredible low prices !!!) and then wait for that perfect next meeting. While waiting nervously wondering if she will fit she finally arrives. As usual she is a little difficult to get upstairs, but gets their in the end, Into the bedroom put her into place, slowly unwrap her, then open her doors, open her drawers and give her a good banging!!!.

We are closed Tuesday’s but a member of staff is usually in to answer the phone. Unfortunately due to us leaving the door unlocked and despite us being on our own estate a member of the public tried the door, found it unlocked, opened it and went inside, then proceeded to rob the poor member of staff of her mobile phone. It really makes me sick to see people do this. Fortunately with our good CCTV system we were able to take the recording and take it to the police. We have found out the person responsible and it is now being dealt with.
Beware of our competitors charging high prices.
April 3rd, 2010Beware of our local competitors selling Devonshire Pine and Oak Products and promising “Two Week Stock Sales”. No one buys the quantities in Sussex or Surrey that we do and their prices are frankly a rip off. Here at Holmes Hill we are sure we offer the lowest prices and in the very unlikely event we are not the cheapest we will offer a price match. Remember though we will not price match sites or shops that we know are not paying their bills and who are in financial difficulties. Beware of showrooms that charge 50% more than us and then say they will price match us. You have to ask yourself why they did not offer the fair price in the first place. We offer low prices, quick delivery, most of the time from stock and the largest selection in East Sussex. So remember compare the price on the website before you visit a store.
We invest a lot of money in our website to make sure customers can see our prices. If a customer does not have a website then they are obviously not aware of how important a web presence is. If they are not aware of that then they are not aware of the ease a customer can check prices. Don’t bother with a shop that is not prepared to advertise prices as these are the shops that are no longer selling goods competitively.
Price Increases Coming.
April 2nd, 2010With the Pound taking a hammering on the money markets and the shipping costs from the Far East increasing over double in the past year, most of our suppliers are starting to put up their prices. We have purchased a large amount of Devonshire Pine stock and have that coming in for the next few weeks which has enabled us to hold the prices until that stock has gone. Remember though when this stock has gone our prices will also have to increase.
Holmes Hill Furniture sick of Price Match Requests from customers of websites we know are going bust.
March 31st, 2010Here at Holmes Hill Furniture we are fed up with companies like Woodpeckers online that take peoples money and go bust. Our Price Match policy makes it much better for the customer to know they are getting the best prices but please note we know which sites are going bust and will not pricematch them. One company boasts that it has been going for ten years but Companies House Website reveals that it has only been going since Feb 10. The reason is it has gone bust, opened the site up again in a differant name but look at the top address bar and you can see it is a differant name. Please come and see us and see us and your furniture. We ask for 10% deposit and quote the lowest prices that can be charged. If they are cheaper its because you are unlikely to get your furniture and that is where the online retailer makes their money. You then have to get a refund from the card company if you are lucky and start all over again. If you have paid cash or Debit card then you have lost your money in full.
